Triona
This is a mix of songs in gaelic and english. This is her first solo record from 1975 on Gael Linn records. Triona was a member of Skara Brae with her siblings and a founding member of Bothy band. Usually don’t really care for the celtic end of things but these songs and this record in general has a good sound without getting too jiggy or stereotypically “celtic”. Really dig the harpsichord or whatever is going on there.
Suchitra Mitra – Tagore Songs
I just googled this lady and she died yesterday. RIP. Her wikipedia entry lists over 400 recorded Tagore songs. She was also Sheriff of Kolkata in 2001, the first woman appointed to the post. This song rules. If you know the title to this song, please let me know.
